Emily is the mother of Daisy and the wife of Ben Steiner. She is also the sister-in-law of Samantha Steiner.
In Dissolution, Emily rings Daisy and leaves an extended voicemail message, to the point where Daisy goes out and comes back again and her mother is still speaking.
When Daisy eventually decides to pick up the phone, her mother reveals that there is a job going at a newspaper in Colwyn Bay. This eventually leads to Daisy deciding to leave Meteor Street ("Leaves").
