Minty was a homeless proponent of Socialism, and owner of Gramsci.
According to Bilbo, Minty was "into the whole Class War thing" and made a living by selling the Socialist Worker magazine. He also trained Gramsci to attack rich people, claiming the dog could smell wealth up to 20 feet away.
One day Minty won £100,000 on a lottery scratchcard, and Gramsci immediately turned on him and bit his knees off. Minty used the money to buy new knees, while Gramsci fled.
